A large seminar on “the Role of a Smart City in the development of the digital economy” was held at Amity University in Tashkent, organized jointly with the World Bank and the Ministry of innovative development of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Speakers at the event were Dr. Jon-sung Hwan, Chief strategist of the Pusan smart city project and a Leading researcher at the National information society Agency, Dr. Hyun Gon Wang, Senior economist at the World Bank, who heads the Smart City Global partnership program, and Bobur Rakhimov, founder of Smart chain.
Employees of ministries and departments, journalists, researchers and students of Amity University in Tashkent learned about the role of the digital economy and how it will help to bridge the gap between the problem and the solution in a short period.
A round table was also organized for employees of ministries and departments to discuss the prospects for the development of “Smart cities” in Uzbekistan, and the experience of developed countries in implementing the digital economy.
