On March 12, 2024, a meeting with participants of the Seeds for the Future 2023 project and the Tech4Good awarding ceremony took place in the Ministry of Digital Technology. Deputy Minister of Digital Technology Rustam Karimjonov, rectors and faculty of universities, Huawei management and students of 7 universities of Uzbekistan summarized the results of the educational project.

The Ministry of Digital Technology held the awarding ceremony of the global competition Tech4Good 2023, in which students of Uzbekistan won the Silver Award and People’s Choice Award. The final was held on January 11, 2024, and the TechnoMinds team’s Aquatibia project was voted one of the top ten finalists by an expert jury.

As a prize, eight TechnoMinds participants will go to China for an educational tour of China Seeds Tour and receive a grant to implement their project. Given the potential demonstrated by Uzbek youth throughout the educational project Seeds for the Future 2023 another 4 participants last year were selected for a trip to China. 

The meeting also summed up the results of the educational project Seeds for the Future 2023. Last September, with the support of the Ministry of Digital Technologies, 15 students from 7 universities of Uzbekistan participated in a regional project in Doha, Qatar, which brought together 175 students from 15 universities in the region of the Middle East and Central Asia. 

“The main goal of accelerating the development of the economy is to provide the young generation with jobs. By implementing educational programmes, by conducting internships, we want to deepen the confidence of young talents to be qualified for work in international and local companies. Not only the companies themselves are interested in attracting young people, but the whole world also needs qualified personnel with knowledge of innovative technologies, - shared Huawei Director in Uzbekistan Mr. Chen Jiayai. “This year Huawei’s 25th anniversary in Uzbekistan, as well as 10 years of Seeds for the Future project. We thank the ministry and the universities for their support and hope to implement more joint projects.”

Thro the Seeds for the Future 2023 project, students from Uzbekistan explored innovative technologies such as 5G, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, exchanged experience and knowledge with peers from around the world, and also participated in the Talent Summit in the days of COP-28 in Dubai, the Mobile World Congress MWC 2024 in Barcelona, in the organization of visits of Uzbek government agencies to Huawei headquarters in Shenzhen in January this year.
